It doesn’t get much better than our teak outdoor furniture, in terms of comfort, aesthetics, and durability. Teak is king of outdoor patio and garden furniture. Your purchase of genuine teak chairs, tables or benches will last a lifetime, with virtually no maintenance! There is no need to take your teak furniture indoors during harsh weather. Let them gracefully weather the element; that is what they are best at. The high oil content in teak is the secret to its success. Your teak furniture, such as the 48" Casablanca backless bench or the 35" round bistro folding table, will initially have a soft honey-blonde color and after a few seasons outdoors it will mellow to a soft silver-gray, and that’s how it will continue, without ever warping, rotting, splintering or twisting. A good piece of teak hardwood will last at least fifty years.

Interesting bit of history: Back in the day when wood was the construction material for ships, teak was used for the decks and benches because of its durability in all weather conditions. When it came time to scrap the ships, the teak wood was still in such good condition that it was recycled and turned into outdoor furniture! If teak could last for decades on the high seas, we think it will be a wise investment for your backyard patio, garden or pool area.
When searching for teak patio furniture, you must be careful to not fall for the imitators. Phrases like “better than teak”, “teak-like”, “good as teak” are meant to sway you away from the real thing, like our Wilshire armchair. But, truth be told, it doesn’t get better than the real tectona grandis grade A teak wood; and that the only type of teak furniture you will find within our catalogue.

Finishing Tips
Our teak furniture will come to you in its natural, unfinished state and will be finely sanded to enhance its smooth surface. The timber is a striking yellow-brown olive color when still new. If you are going to keep your furniture indoors and out of natural sunlight, it will change color over a period of time – perhaps six months to a year. The wood color will change to a darker shade of brown. But if you are going to leave your teak furniture outdoors the sun’s UV rays will slowly “bleach out” the natural color of the teak wood and will leave it a soft sliver-gray “patina” color, giving your furniture the distinctive teak appearance. This silver-gray appearance is very good-looking and useful because it helps the furniture to blend into many different outdoor environments. In this state, teak needs no regular maintenance to maintain its handsome appearance and structural integrity, even when left outdoor through all the years’ harsh elements. Teak is truly maintenance-free!
If you purchase your teak furniture already oiled with teak oil it will be a bit darker than normal, mid-brown color and have a soft sheen. Teak oil is not necessary, and does not lengthen the life of the teak furniture, but it does change the color a bit and will be useful in keeping stains from seeping down into the wood grain. It also will slow down the graying effect of the sun’s UV rays. To maintain the appearance of teak-oiled wood a fresh coat of teak oil will need to be reapplied periodically. If you ever need to reapply teak oil to your furniture please contact us for suppliers of teak oil or purchase some from your local source.
